Overview

As a member of the Windows Server Team, you are required to provide day-to-day support and maintenance of CTC’s server based hardware, operating systems, applications (TT, AD, Exchange, Citrix, etc…) and supporting various infrastructure software. Your other responsibilities will include analyzing business critical incidents, working with Traders, Service Desk and supporting staff. You should stay abreast of current and new technology as it relates to your role. In addition, you'll assist with testing and QA of software to ensure a high quality of service. You are customer focused, enthusiastic, accept ownership and have a sense of urgency.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrable experience in leading the design, and implementation of systems infrastructures, applications, and related products
  • In depth understanding of Windows Server Operating Systems including how they interact and utilize hardware platforms
  • Demonstrable experience with systems planning, security principles, and general software management standard methodologies
  • Excellent software troubleshooting experience
  • Excellent knowledge of PC and server operating systems, including Windows 7, Windows 10, Windows 2008, Windows 2012 and Windows 2016
  • Experience with testing, flowchart, and data mapping tools and procedures, including strong Excel data manipulation
  • Effectively communicate across all teams within the firm
  • Independently lead large cross team projects
  • Previous trading experience preferred or equivalent high speed, high-pressure environments a plus
  • Mentor other team members

  • Group Policy Administration
  • Microsoft Lync 2013
  • Microsoft Exchange 2013
  • Virtual Technology – VMware only at this time
  • Citrix XenApp, XenDesktop and Netscaler
  • Windows Registry manipulation
  • Microsoft System Center Operations Manager
  • MS Clustering – in depth knowledge of multi-Node clustering a plus
  • Scripting skills in at least one of the following: PowerShell, VB, Perl, WMI, ADSI, or Batch
  • Expert in server based hardware configurations
  • TCP/IP, related protocols and Network card optimizations
  • Technical writing skills
  • Solving problems (File Monitor, Performance Monitoring, Packet Sniffing, Process Monitoring, Event Log monitoring, etc…)

Additional Skill Sets:

  • Backup and restoration of data with Symantec Netbackup and Veeam
  • Windows Deployment Services
  • Microsoft SharePoint
  • Brocade SAN switch configuration and zoning
  • Storage allocations and migrations
  • Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager and Orchestrator
  • Cloud Strategy and Administration – Azure/AWS
  • Security focused including ADFS and PKI

Strategy & Planning:

  • Collaborate with all CTC staff to ensure smooth and reliable operation of systems and software for fulfilling business objectives and processes
  • Work with team members, decision makers, and stakeholders to define business requirements and systems goals, and to identify and resolve business systems issues
  • Collaborate in strategic and tactical weekly meetings as necessary
  • Builds solutions in collaboration with team members

Formal Education & Certification:

University degree in computer science or engineering and/or 5+ years of Information Technology (IT) experience supporting Enterprise Class Servers in a heterogeneous environment. Technology Certifications preferred.
